Xbox and VoIP

After listening to Cameron playing counter-strike yesterday, it occured to me that x-box uses Voice over IP (VoIP) to allow players to talk during games. It then occured to me that x-box live is probably the cheapest and easiest way to set up VoIP if all your friends have one. Around $350 for all the hardware and connections, which is much better than the $1000 for a PC.

Just another example of how x-box is not just the games console that Microsoft planned it to be. I wonder if they realise its potential? I hope not, because it only seems fair that everyone gets something that will just annoy Microsoft.
