Stupid Road Signs

Brisbane City Council have decided to turn off the tidal flow system on Coronation Drive. Apparently the maintenance costs ($600 000) and upgrade costs ($3 million) were not worth keeping the system going. It's costing $500 000 to $1 million to turn it off. I'm not sure how this rationale was reached, but anyway ...

There are now large signs on Coronation Drive that say, normal traffic rules apply. Umm, so they didn't when the tidal flow system was working? You mean I could have been ignorning the traffic rules until now?

Honestly. I know everyone speeds on Coro Drive but surely BCC aren't implying that the tidal flow system wasn't part of normal traffic rules?
